Perspective

One night last week I was having a big ol' pity party.  Complete with crying, whining and a few "Oh whoa as me's".  I might have even sang "Swing Low Sweet Chariot".

The reason for all the bawling and squawling is not important but what stopped it is.

Amidst all my feeling sorry for myself a sweet little girl was having a birthday.

Earlier in the evening I had stopped by her house and given her her gifts.  I had made her some sweet, simple skirts.  I didn't get a chance to watch her open them because I was running late for previously planned engagement.

Well, later on with puffy eyes I was scrolling through Facebook.  And there I came across something that made me smile a really big smile.  The little girl's mom had posted pictures of the skirts I made her and had stated how much the girl loved them.  She described how her girl was dancing around the living room in one of her skirts.

Well, well, well...nothing like a cute little kid to put things into perspective and snap me out of it.

Instant happy.

Thank you for that.

Here are few shots of the skirts and here's a link to tell you how to make your own if you like.  It's the Oliver+S Lazy Days Skirt pattern.
